To convert the redundant Lord Nelson public house and develop the rear yard in the heart of the Walmgate/Piccadilly Conservation Area in York.
Idea
Conversion of the former pub into two new houses and development of the rear yard to form six new, contemporary townhouses.

Details
- The site is in a central location closely surrounded by a mix of historic buildings including Grade I Listed St. Deny’s Church.
- This was used a design driver to pick out key views across the city from upper-level balconies across rooftops to the church and York Minster.
- Four storey
- Designed with raised ground floor and underground water attenuation system to address location in a Flood Risk Zone.
